The Future of Design: Voxel Print and PolyJet Technology
Novelty toys, trading cards and even movie posters have been known to be created with Lenticular printing which combines multiple images with a magnifying or lenticular lens.
This special process can bring lift to animation by giving the effect of motion and revealing hidden images. Previously, it was restricted to two dimensions.
With the capabilities of PolyJet 3D printers, MIT Media Lab designers saw the potential to innovate. They say the possibility to produce an illusory design that was purely physical and embedded into the model.
