The 3D Difference at Video Gaming Technologies

By: TriMech

Video Gaming Technologies, or VGT, designs, manufactures and distributes games for bingo-based gaming and emerging markets. You can find their machines in over 20,000 terminals in 140+ locations across the United States. However, these games take a lot of time to design, prototype, manufacture and assemble, so the company was looking to save both time and money.

To achieve their goal VGT needed a way to streamline functional prototyping, which would allow them to test fit assemblies, but also it was important to interconnect the electrical and mechanical components before receiving hardware. Thanks to Fused Deposition Modeling (FDM) technology, they could test prototypes before production, allowing them to identify and eliminate any design flaws early in the cycle. To solve their electrical and mechanical dilemma, they turned to SOLIDWORKS Electrical. With these technologies on their side, they were able to cut out the $20K they spent in a year on outsourced 3D printed parts.
