Additive Solutions for Aerospace Durability and Sustainment Challenges
Both the U.S. Air Force and TE Connectivity were looking for a solution to meet their needs and found it in the Stratasys Origin One 3D printer.
The U.S. Air Force hosted an open competition to find solutions for the C3175 family of hydraulic line clamps and the team that came out on top offered a 3D printed solution that meets stringent airworthiness requirements, weighs less and is more efficient to manufacture.
TE Connectivity had to find a solution for an existing aerospace client for a unique cabling solution that required a quick turnaround which meant typical manufacturing options were not going to work. What they found helped them optimize accuracy and repeatability while demonstrating the successful use of additive manufacturing with flexible production volumes.
